I’ve stalked this place ever since it first opened last year, waited for its teething problems to be over, and booked my tickets once there was a window for a 3 day trip to this town, which I honestly haven’t heard of until the Pullman news came up. And so we took that random 20-hour flight on Air Asia on a random Friday for this really chill short trip.
For some reason, I booked a SQ flight to Hanoi during a promotion @ only $268nett per pax but I picked SilkAir to come back due to better flight timings. It was my first trip to Vietnam and I was excited about it. Thankfully, I found Mercure and it was time again to clock more points into my Accor Silver.
I am so happy that Accor took over this property, and just in time!
With SPG and Shang properties in HK looking surprisingly dismal for a combination of factors, I decided to focus on Accor properties for this trip to buff up my Accor membership. Frankly speaking, none of the Novotel properties stood out. And no Sofitel choices either. So I literally jumped for joy when I spotted this recently rebranded and refurbished Park Lane (its old name) property.
This was the last night of of guided Hokkaido tour and boy am I glad that we were placed here! Apart from feeling like a whale from the 7days of non stop eating, maximum sleeping, and minimum walking, I managed to collect enough braincells to take pictures and remember sufficient details for a review.
I was excited to visit the property as the official photos look really nice and it is in fact time for Singapore to welcome a brand new Mercure on top of the tired looking Mercure Roxy. Doesnt hurt that I have Accor membership too.
I finally went to Novotel Melaka (Malacca)!!
I’ve been stalking the property for quite a while, because it’s new, and the last time I’ve been to this small town was 2007 maybe?
And of course I once again stalked the Accor 40% Super Sale to secure this place at a superb deal for my 4D3N leisure trip with a slightly different agenda, other than shopping and eating hehe.
Prior to arrival, I had emailed the hotel to enquire about the upgrade in accordance with my Accor Gold membership and responses were prompt – was told they will try their best for me.
I was stalking for staycation options for a weekend in September when Accor decided to have their bi-annual Private Sale! 40% off was really hard to resist and I’ve been wanting to try Grand Mercure Roxy Singapore, the only Mercure in Singapore. I’ve tried Mercures in Melbourne, Bangkok, Phuket, and Beijing – all not bad at all! And so it was booked for 26-27 September and we were all set!
